The Florida Master Naturalist Program, an adult education program to promote awareness and understanding of the state’s natural environment, is offering a five-week class for people interested in learning about the state’s environment.
The program begins Oct. 11 and will be held each Tuesday through Nov. 15. The course is a 40-hour, hands-on course including classroom instruction, field trips to Blackwater River State Forest and Splinter Hill Bog, practical experiences related to general ecology, habitats, wildlife and conversation issues.
The classes will be at the Escambia and Santa Rosa counties’ extension offices of the University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences.
The Escambia County extension office is located at 3740 Stefani Road in Cantonment. The Santa Rosa County extension office is at 6263 Dogwood Drive in Milton.
