Water Temps at One Lake Michigan Beach Nearing 75 Degrees

If you haven’t jumped into Lake Michigan yet, now might be the time. Water temperatures at beaches are heating up with one spot nearing 75 degrees.

The National Weather Service’s Lake Michigan Beach Report from Wednesday morning, July 5, shows that Duck Lake State Park’s water temperature was 74 degrees. The beach also had a green flag for swimming with 1-foot waves.

The report included temperatures and swimming conditions for four more beaches. At P.J. Hoffmaster State Park, the water temperature was 71 degrees with a green flag. At Muskegon State Park, it was 70 degrees with a green flag. It was also 70 degrees at Saugatuck Oval Beach (no flag system available). The water was 67 degrees at Grand Haven State Park.

These observations are reported during the morning hours and could change throughout the day. Swimming hazard are also subject to change.
