NORTHERN MICHIGAN (WPBN/WGTU) — Michigan State Police confirm an 80 acre forest fire has been contained.
The fire spread near US-131 off County Line Road.
Multiple fire departments from Grand Traverse, Wexford and Roscommon counties worked to contain the fire. According to the Fife Lake Springfield Fire Department, DNR planes took water from nearby Fife Lake to douse the flames.
Michigan State Police troopers temporarily evacuated the Chippewa Landing Campground. MSP says no homes were threatened by the fire and the camp is back open.
