The officials story can be read here. I just had to pause for a moment. I had a pre-Christmas anxiety attack reading all of the eco-trifle. The story about planting coffee and saving the Leuser National park is beautifully written. But the story has a few problems.
Coffee beans in small numbers are nice but they are not an economy of scale. And soon coffee will be banned by the Greenies anyway. We are doomed to suck on herbal tea.
The Leuser National Park is just another green WWF fantasy of preservation the planet. In real terms it makes no difference. Sorry I had to bust that bubble.
No offense not every average citizen can enjoy, or likes, to take 3-weeks off to live in a jungle camp which huge spiders, snakes, leeches and sweat his soul out. I rather watch it on TV. If you ever spend time in the jungle you know what I am talking about.

Yes, plant more trees.
Enter Broderick cunning plan.
The eco-babble from these schemes are beautifully written. They sound logical, well developed, narrated and I am surprised we have not seen the monkey, orangutan or the Billy the polar bear. But it is the same type of soft fanatics who call for insurgency warfare in ecological matters. Like eco-guerrilla warfare that sounds more like Che Guevara than Sir David Attenborough.
Without doubt the cause for activists are the result of corporate abuses. Corporations have become the empires accumulating greed, influence and excessive wealth held in the hands of a few families. They escape justice routinely as money and power rule.
In response the green groups come up with Broderick’s cunning scheme that goes like that. Create a fuss. Make everything become politics. The community, the food, the air, the land, the ancestors of my ancestors and the children of my childrens childrens, a Greenpeace favourite, create the OMFG moment. Create fake media, embellish the facts, misdirect the attention, falsify facts and create a tsunami of selfies, social media, and reports that amplify the new hate machine.
Kick out the industry provide some missionary services to the poor communities to preach a new greener religion, if it works throw in God’s will. Always a favourite when all goes to hell let’s call on the church, which oh by the way is a very large land owner of forests (!). These are the same folks who blessed the Tommy’s going over the top before being slaughtered by German machine-guns, ran the Inquisition burning whoever disagreed on the stakes and now are mobilized to spread the message of evil in the communities who actually do not give a toss.
Agitate a local guy who has some grievances, spend millions of some development funds funnelled by the EU, the US, or Google or the Ford Foundation (guessing at this point), rile the locals in insurrection claims of human rights abuses, direct your hate against the rich guys (they deserve it anyway), get the administration, local and the national government on the bad books of the media, run a smear campaign, and convince the unsuspected bureaucrats to cancel development. Sounds about right?
And if this is not enough, criminalize some poor schmuck who owns some land and trying to make a living for his family or if he is a business owner trying to turn a profit. Already taxed beyond comprehension, now let’s throw in some more foreign taxes to make sure the poor guy can’t legal work and he turns to illegality. But keep the rich guys of the penalty box because he funds the elections or gets favours.
And all of this brought to us by the good green people from the new missionaries of the WWF, Greenpeace, the Rainforest Action Network, Aidenvironment, Friends of the Earth of whatever they are called locally. Don’t praise the lord, because he can’t save us, oh-no only the new Green gods who preach new consumerism, and not eating beef, no milk, all vegan will save the planets. The earth axis tilting to the sun is somehow escaping everyone.
I would not be surprised soon we will be told we need to move to northern hemisphere to tilt the world away from the sun. This would be then referred as climate crisis migration.

We are in the century of idiocy. Reason does no longer apply because the political and the corporate leaders are incompetent. One feeds of the other, like a leech. The politicians are as spineless as the corporate (ab)users of resource policies. The rest of us is left behind. Not since the collapse of the Soviet Union has the wealth accumulation deprived so many gained so little for so few. The excesses are mind blowing.
The amount of wealth, in real greenbacks concentrated in the hands of a few families and their children children’s is mind-boggling. The sad thing Greenpeace and the rest of the guys got bought off. Agreements were made, how much changed hands who knows, but it all suddenly stopped. Why? I let stand in the room but groups like Greenpeace and WWF have yet to account for their actions.
After almost twenty years of environmental struggle, nothing has changed. The families who control 80 percent of the paper and pulp market are today richer, bigger and more entrenched. The fires and haze continue, the theft of public wealth continues, unchallenged and uncontrolled. The oversights and commitments are largely ineffective and not more than an accounting practice.
As 2019 draws to a close we need to ask ourselves, what have the Indonesian conglomerates contributed to society? Have they built roads, cleaned the water we drink, produced better health care or shared the wealth with the Indonesian, Chinese, Brazilian or other societies? Or is this just yet another fancy infogram.
Are they celebrated in public? Are buildings or roads bear their names? Are statues unveiled or are they getting public recognition? Does anyone remember their names other than scandal, rich spoils, family fights over the spoils? No.
Many of the executives working for these corporations have sold out their souls blinded by ambitions and money. To cheat their fellow men is a corporate sport.
“To cheat the other guy over, is a cultural thing”, said one insider. It provides the macho image of the inferior complex individuals pleasing their masters deeply rooted in some societies in Asia. This transcends into the corporate boardrooms of the industry. This is the 2019 state of affairs.
It is unlikely to change. It is not in their personal interests. Public statements are lip service, not greenwashing, its corporate propaganda, sheer and simple. Too much money is made. Moral responsibility is not an item on the profit and loss statement. It maybe should.
Only if the market is denied, the corporations are banned the message will be understood. And the so-called Green warrior have lost. Lost the battle of legitimacy, losing the battle credibility. They are just like another corporation.
And here is where the old battle against the bourgeoisie meets the new version of class struggle against the corporate elite. In the old days the feudal barons supported the kings, if not the baron would end up in the tower or their heads on a spike on the gates of the castle, today they are supporting democratic parties to preserve the board of another rich guys. Resistors will be charged with tax evasion.
But the revolution is coming.
The rise of the global activists, professionally agitated are triggering violent changes. Like in the old days of darkest communism activists are the darkest forces since the heydays of the Stalinist purges. Today the ideology is driving the nutcases out of the woodworks. Now we got them running down the streets, banging the pots, and calling for change. If they cannot get it cities will burn. As they do already in Hong Kong, Chile, Beirut and elsewhere.

The political elites on the left, besides hating Trump, hate everyone that does not agree with the madness of the near hysteria. Dark clouds of fanatic’s surface with increasingly bizarre claims of doom and destruction. The problem is that neither politician nor corporate leaders show gratitude and leadership. Business As Usual of greed and profits run the day.
A few years ago, the claim is we need to save the planet of reaching 1.5 degrees warming, than it is 2 degrees and now we are at the 3.4 and even 4 degree warming. Two things are certain, cutting trees does not help. We all agree. But throwing the lowest hanging fruit into prison is not solving the problem either as long as the corporations get away with destruction of us.
The solutions are complex but following the coffee brewing scheme is not a solution either. They are the proverbial lipstick on the pig. Poverty was not eradicated by planting coffee seeds.
It is the feel-good effect. Development money is being spent, we prevented the poor farmer to make more money for the evil palm oil, paper and whatever industries, we are saving the monkeys, the water, and… continue to live in total poverty. Yippih, the greenies celebrating their victories.
But nothing has changed. Real change can only come if the mega-corporations in Indonesia are stopped. After two decades enough time has passed to demand change.
Jokowi did already a good thing. He took another large portion of land away from one of the conglomerates losing a parcel of land to the building the new capital. But is it enough?
The answer is a resounding No!
As politics has needs the power of money firmly in the hands of a few. Today’s green revolution is becoming a social revolution. It is the beginning of the reshuffling of the social order. The order to fight corruption and greed. Essentially it is a revolution against the mega-corporate rich guys, regardless of age.
Simple said, if in a country of almost 255 million only a handful control the industry, and only less than five families control 80% of the global supply of palm oil and paper industry questions must be asked by officials in Europe, the United States and Asia. If not changed it provides the seeds for revolutions.
Since the collapse of communism in 1991 we surrender ourselves to the idiocy of leftist politics. Revolution is daily message on all the talk channels. Climate crisis, strikes, revolution, revolution, revolutions.
Having lived through a few of ill-conceived revolutions, claims of “the promised land” that everything is better if we just get greener, more liberal, more inclusive, more this, more that, society has become angrier, more resentful to the other and more racist. The corporations are not excluded from this trend. Like in 2010 the signs for change were present, in 2020 again the change is coming!
I recommend reading the communist party speech in China of openly resisting the western-liberal values we so desperately seek to impose. The green movement is a direct threat to communist China. Think about that for a second.
But here lays the danger. Enthralled in the fantasy of “saving the planet”, which oh by the way followed, “saving the whales”, “saving Willy”, “saving the polar bears”, or the “don’t” campaigns but we fail to ask the question who saves us? Who saves humanity because in the moment we follow like Zombie lemmings the idiots who scream the end is near?
Listen to a 25 minutes video made by Tim Sebastian who interviewed one of the leaderless leaders in Hong Kong. Hate for your fellow men or setting alight an old man who does not agree with the revolutionaries are coming. The protests in Jakarta are a stark warning of what is yet to come.
If anyone would have bothered to check the first demonstration in Hong Kong in 2009 was an environmental demonstration. Super star in the making: Joshua Wong.
The environment is in peril but so is humanity.
